This course provides learners with pedagogical content knowledge as needed by English teachers at the secondary school levels. The course covers the notion of Teaching English as a Foreign Language, the notion of approaches, methods, and strategies in TEFL, the basic theories that underlie the teaching methods development, the popular methods from historical perspectives, the notion of innovative strategies in the teaching of language components and the four skills, media, material, and strategy development for achieving the instructional objectives. In the first half term of the term, students are involved in interactive lectures and discussions on the topics, and this term is resumed with the mid-term test that covers all the PCK topics. In the second half term, students are involved in workshops on the plans and implementation of media, materials, and strategies which cover the topics in curriculum 2012 for junior and senior high schools. The second half term is resumed with a final project. The assessment covers project tasks, participation, mid-term test and the final project.
