Deskripsi Mata Kuliah EFL Analysis, Design, and Practices
This three hour credit course guides the students to understand the philosophy of Instructional Design and models of learning, which helps them to design a syllabus and lesson plan relevant to the EFL context in different fields either for English for Academic Purposes or English for Specific Purposes. This course also enriches the students to be competent in selecting and developing appropriate learning material, methods/strategies, media, and assessment. They are also required to have competency in conducting teaching practices in the real fields of tertiary level of education and further doing reflection by using a lesson study model.

This course is a three credit hour course that specifically guides the post graduate students of English Education Study Program to understand the notion of English Language Teaching either in the contexts of ESL or EFL. The course enriches the students with  theoretical bases of the historical development of teaching methods that have been in use from time to time. They learn about classical methods, popular methods, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of their implementation in EFL classes. Students are also expected to have essential knowledge in curriculum development and factors affecting success in learning English. They also learn about models of learning which are applied in language teaching in EFL context. New paradigm in language teaching and 21st century skills are also the main concern of this course, which require innovations and necessitate the use of technology in language teaching.

This course aims at providing students with knowledge and skills about English Language Teaching which focus on analysing the current situation, designing instruction and conducting practicum in the real situation. The course is started by reviewing the curriculum applied in university, discussing the philosophy of instructional design and teaching and also methods and techniques in teaching English. The skills are built by giving the chances for the students to design their own materials based on the lesson planning they prepared using the current curriculum, by assigning them to have teaching practicum pertaining teaching English for tertiary level. The students are demanded to have reflection using the style of lesson study and make a report about the experience of the practicum.
